The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC), which represents 45 organisations from 32 countries, is calling for a thorough review of Google’s takeover of Fitbit, which was concluded at the end of 2019. BEUC says the deal would allow an exceptional amount of data to be collected and is concerned about the impact it could have on competition and consumer privacy.
